Just how exactly does stress make you sick?

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon conclude that a body used to a high level of stress may develop resistance to cortisol, the hormone most notably associated with the stress response. Bodies resistant to cortisol produce more cytokines. Cytokines, ” promote inflammation and heighten the severity of symptoms.”

Beware inflammation!
