Harvard Researcher Robert Stickgold on "Dreams and the Resolution of the Mind"

What is going on when we are dreaming?

Harvard researcher Robert Stickgold believes that as we sleep the brain attempts to sort and shift the events of the day. As the brain organizes these ideas Stickgold asserts, it associates with what it considers to be relevant ideas. The resulting composite makes our dreams seem meaningful.
